Dr. Lok uses a holistic care approach to health and disease. Other names for holistic care are alternative or integrative care. An example of holistic care is if someone had high blood pressure, Dr. Lok might suggest more than just a pill: such as certain foods and relaxation techniques. Dr. Lok is also trained in holistic techniques such as osteopathy and pranic healing/energy medicine. Dr. Lok is not a functional or naturopathic physician.
-
Dr. Lok is an osteopathic physician. Osteopathic physicians do everything a medical doctor (M.D) can do (prescribe medications, advise on health, refer to specialists, do procedures), but can also offer patients osteopathic manual therapy (OMT), which is a type of hands-on healing. Osteopathic physicians also view the body as a whole and believe in the innate healing power of the body.

Absolutely! ‘Folx in the LGBTQ community are welcome, and Dr. Lok enjoys conversations about the intersection of health and sexuality. Sexuality is a broad term that includes sexual health, sexual behavior, sexual orientation and gender. Dr. Lok also provides gender-affirming care including but not limited to medications and referrals.
-
Dr. Lok provides osteopathic manual therapy (OMT) as a separate service to the membership. Osteopathic manual therapy is a hands-on technique that osteopathic physicians use to treat bodily issues such as back pain, neck pain, and wrist pain, but can also treat the body as a whole such as heart burn, migraines and anxiety. In many cases, OMT can be used to complement, or even replace, drugs or surgery. A patient can expect to lay on a massage-like patient table and experience popping their back similar to a chiropractor and moving arms/legs similar to a physical therapist with relaxing music in the background.
