Advocating for patients on the state and federal level

In May 2024, Dr. Lok met with state senators and representatives at the state capitol to advocate for patients and challenge insurance companies’ refusal to cover life-saving medications and treatments through the administrative process of Prior Authorization. She stood alongside American Academy of Family Physicians to advocate for this issue and for improved access to high-quality primary care within the American healthcare system. In 2023, she also advocated for similar issues in Washington DC with federal senators and representatives.
